Position

  • Contract worker:  Psychologist or Psychotherapist (OPQ registered)
  • Part-time (4 to 20 clients per week)

Hours

  • Flexible
  • Office space is available from 8 am – 9 pm, 7 days a week

Responsibilities

  • Provide psychological services such as assessment, counselling, psychotherapy, or workshops for individuals, groups, couples, families, or organizations as per your qualifications
  • Consult with/refer to relevant community agencies and service providers as needed
  • Follow all guidelines set by the Order of Psychologists of Quebec (OPQ), such as proper documentation, and adherence to OPQ policies and procedures

Qualifications

  • Licensed as a psychologist or psychotherapist with the OPQ
  • Commitment to evidence based practice and use of theoretical orientations that are supported by the OPQ (e.g., Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Mindfulness, Psychodynamic, Humanistic, Existential, or Systemic approaches)
  • Ability to recognize, diagnose, and treat mental disorders according to the DSM
  • Specialty areas of practice may  include but are not limited to eating disorders, addictions, anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, anger management, grief counselling, life transitions, career counselling, and interpersonal issues
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to establish and maintain good working relations
  • Commitment to quality improvement, continuing education, and team work
  • Sensitivity towards diversity issues such as culture and LGBTQ populations
  • Bilingual (spoken French and English) is considered an asset
