Biography

I have an international background; I completed my doctoral and postdoctoral psychology training in Hungary, Israel, and Canada. I have worked in various clinical settings, such as in hospitals and in private practice.

I am specialized in the treatment of trauma, anxiety, depression, and perfectionism. I have a strong research background related to these conditions as well: I have published several papers in peer-reviewed journals about their treatment and the process of psychotherapy. I am especially interested in the psychological consequences of individual and massive trauma, and their passing through the next generation; I published a book, a book chapter and several papers about it.

My research has been supported by several grants, recently from the Douglas Utting Foundation, the Society for Psychotherapy Research, the J. & O. Winter Fund at the City University of New York. I regularly present my research about the treatment of depression, perfectionism, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) at local and international conferences and public lectures.

I have more than fifteen years of experience in treating various psychological problems. I have worked with people struggling with all kinds of difficulties: the haunting memories of trauma, depression, anxiety, panic attacks, life crisis, grief, and so much more. Life can feel hard, demanding, and unfair, and I know how isolated one can feel when facing the hardships.

I believe that although each problem and life situation is unique, we all have the ability to share our journey, show our vulnerability and get help and support in a safe and honest relation. In therapy, I offer the warm, open, and respectful space needed to heal and grow. I believe that, as Irvin Yalom puts it, “We are all in this together, and there is no therapist and no person immune to the inherent tragedies of existence”, and that seeking support to deal with difficulties means the first step in solving them. I use the most effective therapeutic tools to help you to cope better, communicate more effectively, accept yourself, break free from the problems that hold you back, and grow as a person.
