Ms Elena Orincakova, MA
Hello! My name is Elena Orincakova and let me start by saying that I am a firm believer that therapy can and will help you overcome many of life’s most challenging events. However, using the right therapist is often key and that’s why I invite you to read through my bio to see if you feel I would make a good fit for you.
I have a Master’s degree in Psychology with years of professional experience working at different settings including hospitals, clinics and schools, where I treated children, adolescents and adults with both complex and severe mental illnesses (including depression, bipolar disorder, psychosis, personality disorders, anxiety, OCD, addiction etc.) and various psychological problems.
In addition to providing psychotherapy, I conducted specialized testing and evaluations, regularly testified in court and supervised psychology students. I also designed an educational program for high-risk patients (severe depression and suicide) to recognize the symptoms of their illness, thus allowing for timely intervention.
I enjoy working with all ages and especially with children and adolescents, as their development is fraught with challenges that are often overlooked. They can manifest in different ways, such as poor school marks, acting out or withdrawal.
Children often require significantly more time and patience to open up and as an experienced psychologist, I am able to use my knowledge of core principles of child psychology, observation, communication through play and even intuition, to figure out what the child is trying to tell me.
One other thing that sets me apart from many psychologists, is that as part of my psychoanalytical training, I underwent my own therapy which has enabled me to have a deeper understanding of what you are going through.
Should you or your loved one find yourselves in need and decide to meet with me, you will find someone warm, empathetic and non-judgmental to help you find your footing and give you the tools to stay standing.
