Ms Juliette Ollivaud, MA
Hello, my name is Juliette Ollivaud and I am a psychologist.
I began my studies in France, and obtained my Psychology graduate degree in Belgium. At the same time, I completed my thesis in Anthropology which allowed me to learn and have a cultural perspective when seeing patients from other countries and with various cultural backgrounds.
My first experience in the field of Psychology included seeing patients in a palliative care and oncology setting.
Upon my arrival in Quebec, I completed my internship at the Douglas Hospital to obtain my equivalencies for the Order of Psychologists of Quebec. At the Douglas, I worked with individuals who suffered from personality disorders (especially Borderline Personality Disorder). I saw patients on an individual basis, but also helped to run therapy groups (Dialectic Behaviour Therapy by Marsha Linehan). My main area of interest was to help these individuals with their interpersonal relationship difficulties.
After obtaining my Psychologist title with the Order of Psychologists of Quebec in July 2014, I worked at a psychology clinic in St. Therese. Since 2015, I have worked at different clinics within the public sector (CLSCs and hospital settings) and have worked with different modalities (providing individual and group therapy). I currently work at an external Psychiatric clinic.
My approach is very integrative. I use many different therapeutic approaches including Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectic Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Person-Centered Humanistic Therapy.
When working with my clients I like to pay special attention to the therapeutic alliance between us. My focus is also directed to the regulation of emotions and to examine the repetitions of the difficulties encountered in the different spheres of your life. During our sessions, we will be able to study together the links and patterns between the past and the present.
It is my pleasure to meet you!
