Neuropsychologist
Biography
Hi there! My name is Simona, and I am a licensed Neuropsychologist/Psychologist with the Quebec Order of Psychologists (OPQ). I completed my Ph.D. in research and intervention in neuropsychology at the University of Montreal.
Working with gifted and twice-exceptional individuals, I was able to develop expertise and a passion for neuropsychological assessment and intervention with gifted twice-exceptional populations (i.e., gifted with concomitant disorders; ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Anxiety, Depression, etc.).
I completed my internships at the Douglas Mental Health University Institute where I provided assessments to inpatient and outpatient adult and pediatric clients suffering from various psychiatric disorders (i.e., schizophrenia, bipolar, borderline, poly-toxicomania, anxiety, depression, etc.). I also completed an internship in eating disorders with a cognitive-behavioural therapy approach.
Having worked in both public and private settings, enabled me to work with individuals with various and diverse backgrounds which enabled me to tailor my evaluation process to their unique needs. I always strive to understand my client’s needs and cognitive functioning that goes beyond the tests and questionnaires. My goal is to always help clients understand themselves and their cognitive profile and how it may affect their day-to-day life.
