Thank you for booking an online therapy session at Blake Psychology!

We prepared this quick start guide in order to help you get great results from your online therapy sessions. Please follow these steps carefully.

Use your best internet connection (cell / home)

Online therapy uses your internet connection to send and receive image and sound. Our online therapy sessions use a bandwidth of 1 Mbps download and 1 Mbps upload. For the best results, we recommend an internet speed of 5 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload. This will allow for some headroom for other types of traffic so that they do not interfere with your online therapy session.

Please test your internet connection in the same physical location and from the same device you intend to use for therapy.

To test the internet speed on your cellphone or tablet, install SpeedTest by Ookla from the app store, open the app and click "go".

Please perform a speed test with the WIFI off on your phone and check the results.  If if your mobile internet is faster, therapy using our WebMeeting App on your cellphone with mobile data, may be your best bet.

If you have a slow residential internet connection, chances are that the mobile internet on your cellphone is faster!

  • Computer with webcam, integrated or external
  • iPhone / iPad
  • Android phone or tablet (Samsung Galaxy, etc)

We also strongly recommend the use of headphones with an integrated microphone depending on your device's specifications.

  • Wired with 1/8" TRRS jack
  • EarPods with Lightning Connector
  • Bluetooth headset

Software Requirements

Just before your appointment

Click your therapist's meeting link using Google Chrome or the 3CX WebMeeting App, put on your headphones.  Once your therapist checks you in, the session will start.

If your browser requests permission to use your microphone and webcam, please accept so your therapist and hear and see you.

Please note that you are responsible for the costs associated to data usage of your internet connection.
