Psychologist

Licensed Psychologist with the Order of Psychologists of Quebec OPQ# 14766-22

Hi, I’m Melissa, a psychologist with degrees in psychology from Quebec and France, and a member of the Ordre des Psychologues du Québec. I’m pleased to be part of the team at Blake Psychology, where I help families, children, and adolescents on their path to well-being.

With many years of experience, I have had the opportunity to support families going through sometimes difficult times, with the aim of fostering harmonious relationships and optimal development for each child. Convinced that flourishing families enable children to reach their full potential, I am committed to providing a safe, caring space, adapted to each situation, to support everyone in this process.

My academic background includes a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a certificate in early childhood and family studies, both obtained at the Université de Montréal, as well as a master’s degree in social health psychology completed in France. Back in Quebec, I continued my studies at UQÀM to complete doctoral equivalencies, which enabled me to obtain my title of psychologist.

My therapeutic approach is integrative: it combines elements of humanistic, systemic, and cognitive-behavioral approaches, always based on the specific needs of each individual. When working with children, I use creative tools such as play and drawing to offer them a space where they can express themselves freely. Attentive listening and empathy are at the heart of my practice, and each family benefits from personalized support.

Before joining Blake Psychology, I gained experience in a variety of settings. I completed an internship at Big Brothers Big Sisters in Montreal, then supported grieving families at Maison Monbourquette between 2012 and 2016.

In France, I practiced as a co-therapist in family therapy at Psycho & Co and worked with families with abused children at the association Le Cri de l’Enfant, in the Pays d’Aix. Returning to Quebec in 2018, I deepened my skills in supporting families and young people facing various issues at the multidisciplinary Appui-Tête clinic. I also honed my understanding of childhood syndromes and disorders, including intellectual disability and autism spectrum disorder, at a specialized school.

Currently, I work part-time at a CLSC, where I evaluate children for autism spectrum disorder through the Trajectoire Diagnostic 0-7 years program.

At Blake Psychology, I’m here to help you deal with issues such as anxiety, managing emotions, ADHD, depression, and other difficulties. My goal is to offer you a caring space and personalized interventions to help you regain balance and serenity while achieving your personal and family goals.

I look forward to meeting you and working with you to build a path to lasting wellness.
